In this workshop, Henry the Snail (with assistance from Twin Cities artist Z Akhmetova) will guide you to slow down and create a postcard to mail to a city, state, or federal government representative. Art supplies, stamps, and prompts for writing, drawing, and reflection are all provided. The only thing you need to bring is a willingness to reach out and connect. This is a family-friendly activity. Youth will need to be accompanied by an adult to participate.
Learn about the benefits of growing native plants. In this class you will find out how to identify native plant species and get ideas for using these plants in the landscape, plus information on how to design, install and maintain a native plant garden.

Join us for a delightful kids’ event featuring author Carolyn Olson and her book Pearl’s Garden! Carolyn will be reading from Pearl’s Garden at 10:30am and again at 11:30am. Between readings, children are invited to ask Carolyn questions, learn more about her story, and get hands-on by planting their own seeds to start a garden of their very own. All seed-starting supplies will be provided, so kids can dig in, create, and take home something special. This interactive event is perfect for young readers and budding gardeners alike!
Minneapolis Craft Market is heading to one of our favorite venues in town, Machine Shop! The Machine Shop is a historic and unique event venue in the heart of the St. Anthony Main neighborhood of Minneapolis. Steps from the Mississippi River, Machine Shop is the perfect venue for a market with its open, bright and airy space. We'll have two full floors of handmade goods! Tickets are required for entry (FREE). We'll have DJ Buster Baxter spinning tunes with the Machine Shop bar open so you can enjoy beer, wine or cocktails while you shop.

Join us for an indoor Earth Day celebration! We'll transform our gymnasium into a cozy theater, screening the inspiring environmental film -WALL-E on a large screen. Feel free to bring your pillows and blankets for comfortable floor seating. Each registration includes a delicious snack pack featuring your choice of a beef or vegan hot dog, a beverage, popcorn, and a sweet treat. Before the movie, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, engage in Earth Day-themed activities designed to educate and inspire all ages. Stop in the building at Elliot park for some free seeds to start your garden! We'll have a variety of vegetables and flowers available. There is a limit of 10 packets per person, and we'll give away until they're gone. Happy Planting!
